Privacy Policy

At Texas Ridge Labs, we respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use CocktailVault (the "App") and our websites at texasridgelabs.com (the "Site").

1. Information we collect

Information you provide:

• Account information (email address and password) if you create an account
• Inventory data (ingredients, brands, variants, costs, notes, ratings)
• Custom recipes and ratings you create
• AI chat conversations (if you use the AI Bartender)

Usage analytics: We use a third party analytics service to understand how people find and use the App and the Site so we can improve them. It collects:

• On the Site: pages you visit, links and buttons you click, the page or campaign link that brought you here, and basic browser and device details (browser type, screen size)
• In the App: screens you open, when the App is installed, updated, opened or closed, repeated quick taps on the same spot (a sign something isn't working), key actions such as creating an account or buying AI credits, and basic device details (device model, operating system, app version)
• On both: your approximate location (country and city), estimated from your IP address
• A random identifier stored in a cookie (for up to one year) and in local storage in your browser, or in the App, so visits from the same device can be counted together. On the Site, it is deleted when you turn analytics off
• If you sign in to the App: your account ID and email address, so activity can be linked to your account

Analytics never include your inventory, recipes, AI conversations, photos, passwords, or payment details. We do not use advertising SDKs, we do not use analytics data for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Our analytics provider uses AI services to help summarize usage data for us. That data is not used to train AI models.

Cookies on the Site: Besides the analytics cookie above, the Site sets two small cookies that it needs to work: one remembers your analytics choice (for up to six months), and one notes whether your region requires us to ask before analytics runs (for one day). Neither is used for analytics. You can clear all of them at any time in your browser settings.

Your analytics choice: If you visit from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Site analytics stays off unless you allow it. The App does the same when your device region is set to one of those countries. Everyone can turn Site analytics on or off at any time with Privacy choices in the Site's footer, and App analytics with Share Usage Analytics in the App's Settings. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, Site analytics is turned off automatically.

AI features: When you use photo scanning or the AI Bartender, your images and messages are sent to Anthropic (Claude) to provide the service. We do not store your images after processing.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the App
• Sync your inventory across devices (if you enable cloud sync)
• Process in-app purchases
• Respond to your support requests
• Improve our AI features
• Understand which features and pages are used, so we know what to fix and build next

3. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share data with:

• Anthropic: only the specific images and messages you send to the AI
• Supabase: to enable cloud backup and sync (if you choose to use it)
• An analytics provider: to process the usage analytics described above
• Payment processors: to process in-app purchases
• Service providers who help us run the app

4. Data retention

We keep your data only as long as you have an account. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen. After deletion, we retain minimal data for legal and security purposes.

Analytics data is kept only as long as it helps us improve the App and the Site. Analytics data linked to your account is deleted if you ask us to delete it.

5. Your rights

You can:

• Access, correct, or delete your data
• Delete your account entirely
• Ask us to delete analytics data linked to your account
• Turn analytics on or off at any time: Privacy choices in the Site's footer for the Site, Share Usage Analytics in Settings for the App
• Turn off Site analytics automatically by enabling Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser

6. If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland

We process your personal data on these grounds:

• To provide the App and its features, including AI features and cloud sync you choose to use: because it is needed to provide the service you asked for
• Analytics on the Site and in the App: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with Privacy choices in the Site's footer, or with Share Usage Analytics in the App's Settings
• Support requests and keeping the App secure: our legitimate interest in running and improving the App

Texas Ridge Labs is based in the United States, and your data is processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. We rely on our providers' data protection agreements and standard contractual clauses to protect it.

In addition to the rights above, you can object to or restrict our processing, ask for a copy of your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Children's privacy

CocktailVault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date.
